I've sort-of learned to XC ski since moving here, and I really enjoy it...though I find it hard work! I think my technique is poor, that may make it a bit harder. The cold weather never stopped us from playing outdoors - in fact, the more snow the better! While I learned to ski as a young child (and still enjoy it) it seems to be loosing it's popularity here with people preferring snowshoeing. I'm glad you had such an enjoyable outing with your son.
